User story mapping is a valuable tool for software development, once you understand why and how to use it. Author Jeff Patton shows you how changeable story maps enable your team to hold better conversations about the project throughout the development process. Your team will…

One of my favourite books on agile and product management. It clearly explains the story mapping process and provides a framework for taking folk from a basic understanding of the story mapping process to advanced application.

While the intention of the book is to provide a way to plan and prioritise software features and releases, it can also be applied to other projects and campaigns. I have successfully used it to manage marketing campaigns and non-technical collaborative projects where it has been essential to bring disparate stakeholders together, develop a shared understanding and agree what to focus on.

If you are in the business of managing or improving digital services then this is essential reading. It brings together a number of the key aspects required to deliver succesfully. You will become adept at writing user stories, understanding how to prioritise and ultimately deliver value. A brilliant book.
